28 September – 1 October,
2005, Istanbul, Turkey
The Turkish Alzheimer Society and Alzheimer's
Disease International invite you to be part of this unique
and groundbreaking conference. Like its location, Istanbul,
the conference will bridge cultures, continents and centuries
to explore the history, present and future of dementia. Straddling
Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Istanbul is a fascinating
city that promises a diverse and distinctive experience for
delegates from across the world.
The ADI conference is unique. It brings
together a wide range of people with an interest in dementia,
from carers, staff and volunteers of Alzheimer associations
to medical professionals and researchers. It creates an environment
that fosters learning and the exchange of expertise.
With the number of people with dementia
set to double in the next twenty years, the global dementia
community has reached a crossroads. The programme will explore
this juncture through its dynamic multidisciplinary programme;
a mixture of plenary sessions, oral and poster presentations,
workshops and ‘meet the expert’ sessions.
The conference aims to foster a better
global understanding of dementia in order to lead to an improvement
of services for people with dementia and their carers worldwide.
It will foster the creation of Alzheimer associations in the
Middle East where currently there are few. Alzheimer's Disease
International and the Turkish Alzheimer Society look forward
to welcoming you in Istanbul.
